A temporary “Goodbye!”

To my Valued Customers:

For years now, I have dedicated my time and efforts towards a focus only on quality ding repair services. My goal was to give top quality professional repair work to all types of boards at an affordable price with a quick turnaround time. With well over 4000+ boards repaired (including boards shipped from out of state), Ive made some great friends and have forged strong customer relationships with ding repair alone.

In the next few weeks, a new chapter in my career will be starting in the surf/SUP industry. I have been given the opportunity to go back to the core of where it all starts for every surfboard and SUP in manufacturing. As some may know, in the past I used to actively shape and sell boards under the name “Poseidon” some years ago. While I never stopped shaping, the business of ding repair became the focus of my company.

I am proud to announce that my new job will be taking me to WatersEdge SUP & Erie Peeples Surfboards helping to shape and produce boards. I will also be assisting in research and development with regards to the design and manufacturing of boards. Erie, well known on the east coast for his line of surfboards, has since expanded to the SUP scene and has been successfully crafting quality American made boards.  As some might make the connection, I started out learning a lot of what I know today from Erie when he was growing up and building a name for himself well over 20 years ago. This is a perfect chance for me to go back to a part of the industry that I began with as a kid. I am very excited to take on this opportunity as I miss being able to carve up a slab of foam into a work of art on a daily basis. I am stoked to be apart of the WatersEdge/Erie team and to help develop and build quality American made SUPs and surfboards right here locally in Central Florida.

This is a bitter sweet opportunity as it will leave me with limited time to dedicate to Surfboard Medic and my ding repair business. Because of this, I have made a tough decision to temporarily close Surfboard Medic and WILL NOT be offering any ding repair service while I transition into my new position. This is not a permanent end to the business. I WILL NOT be shutting down Surfboard Medic. Once established into my new work schedule, I will slowly begin to take on limited repair work for customers who still would like to receive quality work at a fair price. This also means that some of my services I currently offer will be changing and/or no longer available. For those who are used to dropping off boards at the surf shops* and me picking them up, this will no longer happen. My Deltona location will also be closed for drop off unless otherwise previously discussed.

*Please note that Catalyst Surf Shop WILL CONTINUE to accept ding repair. Please note that turnaround times and/or pricing may be subject to change with my departure from the store as the main ding repair specialist.

My planned date for temporary closure  and no longer accepting repairs will begin on: OCTOBER 31, 2012

More details to come (including a date) on when I will be available again for ding repair services. All announcements will be released on both my website and facebook page.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported my business and those who have helped me build my reputation as one of the best in the area for board repairs. I have always prided myself on customer service and to always finish my work and answer questions to the best of my abilities. I look forward to this new chapter in my career and continuing to provide my services to all of Central Florida with not only keeping you in the water with a repaired board, but also by putting you in the water with a new WatersEdge SUP or Erie Surfboard!
